A Puerto Rican outcast in the early stages of becoming a coat hanger.

Sorry dudes, you won’t be finding this juvenile on grindr anytime soon (he’s straight). However, you’ll soon be seeing him all over the fashion scene in New York! Summer 2015, I spotted young Luis at a blog launch party in San Antonio, Texas. Believe me when I say this, I HAVE AN EYE FOR FASHION.

If you know me personally, you know I’m one for sparking up awkward conversations. To begin, I skipped my personal introduction and went straight for, “HEY! You can model”. Fast forward to present day. I had the privilege of shooting Luis recently for The Public Notice’s first featured model in our coat hanger series. Get to know Luis physically and mentally. Stats and “About Me” are below.

Height 6’2

Weight 165

Chest 37

Waist 32

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

“Hola me llamo Luis Cruz. I go to school. I work. I party. I like the internet. I like clothes. I like art, music, people and things. I’m not fucking Aristotle. I want to make a lot of money to buy a lot of clothes. I want to go places. I want to wear designer shit. So much want but not much need. I don’t know where to begin. I’m 19 and I wait tables. For someone who enjoys art I didn’t know I could be art.”

What are your thoughts on becoming a model?

“I wouldn’t consider myself a model YET. It’d be nice to get signed with someone before we start the name calling. Social media has made it easier for celebrities to share their life style and I crave that. I see how other models live. I think it’s really fucking amazing that they’re able to wear the latest trends. Just having easy access to traveling is crazy. I’m sure there’s a down side to modeling that I have yet to learn about but for now it’s all just free-lance and for fun.”

What do you do for fun?

“I hate when people ask me this. I always draw blank… I like to do a lot of things. Discovering new artist and underground music on soundcloud are just some. I’m a quiet dude and don’t know exactly what fun means. I’m more into good music with good friends.”

What exactly does the public notice about you?

“My looks…*throwback* I wasn’t exactly popular in High school. Nobody knew who I was until I hit a growth spurt and lost weight. I played varsity basketball and still didn’t get recognized until I got attractive. I hate being cocky but it’s 2016 and your looks can pay the bills apparently.”
